Aidpage group discussing "Sick child"...

Any advice or ideas regarding where and how I can find help for a sick child would be appreciated. I've been reading up on government info as well as any info I can find via google but I'm not really getting anywhere yet. Any help or a push in the right direction would really make my day

About kadenscousin

My baby cousin Kaden is 3 months old. He's been in and out of hospitals since he was born. He's currently in a special hospital for digestive problems. He's unable to hold down formula and has already aspirated 3 times.Right now the doctors are still unsure of exactly what the problem is but they want to attempt a surgery to fix his digestive problems. There's only one kind of special formula that he can have and it's going to cost my aunt and uncle $1,500 per month to buy the formula. The doctors say that if he makes it through the surgery he might not need the special formula anymore but they can't guarantee this.My aunt and uncle haven’t been able to work due to needing to be with their son during his hospital stays and money is becoming very tight. My family would greatly appreciate any donation or prayer made to help little Kaden in his time of need.We all love Kaden so very much and he means the world to us.Any help whatsoever would be appreciated more than I could ever put into words.

Aidpage group discussing "Sick child"...

Feel free to participate in this public group space.

Two easy ways to do this:

  1. Add a comment or a question here - on this page... or on any other page in this space.
  2. Or, if you want to start a separate thread - make a new page.

Either way is good - the important thing is your participation. On Aidpage, people support each other by speaking out and by paying attention to each other - as simple as that.

Child with Severe Aplastic Anemia needs help

Hi.  I'm here to ask for help on behalf of my 17 year old niece, Taylor. She lives in Ohio with her mom, dad and younger sister. Up to a few months ago, she was a senior in high school, planning for prom and graduation, looking for a job and truly enjoying  her life.  She started getting sores on her legs and body and noticed she was bruising very easily.  So her mom took her to the Dr., who ran some blood tests on her.  The next day they received a phone call telling them to get her to the emergency room right away.  Her red and white blood cells were unbelievably low.  After more testing they discovered she has a terrible life threatening disease called Severe Aplastic Anemia.  She started getting blood transfusions twice a week to keep her counts in a reasonable range and she was also put on several medicines.  Any infection could be life threatening.  Her mom, dad and 5 year old sister were tested for a bone marrow match, and none will work. She has started an alternative treatment until a bone marrow match can be found.  The medicines and treatments are very expensive and the family needs help badly.  Here is a link with more information about this disease http://www.marrow.org/PATIENT/Undrstnd_Disease_Treat/Lrn_about_Disease/Aplastic_Anemia/index.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About LoveForBerlyn

I've been working hard for the past couple of days to help my friend and her daughter. My friend's daughter is named Berlyn. She had been put on a medical show about four years ago on the Discovery Channel. Little Berlyn was born barely over a pound and was extremely tiny. Berlyn was not a premature birth, she was born on time. The strange thing is, she stopped growing roughly 24 weeks in. Berlyn was sick, but no doctor could give my friend Anne (she goes by Six) a straight answer as to what it was. They think its a Mitochondrial disease thats effecting her. Her G.I. tract doesn't work and she had been opened from her chest all the way down to her crotch about five times so far. Berlyn has struggled for four years of her life. She wasn't able to walk for a few years of her life and wasn't able to talk. Only for about 2 years has she finally been able to walk and talk. She is the cutest little girl.

Berlyn was put on a transplant list and we waited. Only for a few days has she been given the organs she's been waiting for on that transplant wait. Six and her family have money, but definitely not enough for a jet. Berlyn is "stable" enough to not take a medical jet. They need the money or use someone's jet to get to Omaha 4-6 hours when the organs arrive. Its basically on call. Six needs help badly. If someone out there has what they need please contact me so I can give you her phone number.

My son Will has been ill since birth. He was born at 31 weeks with Strep B Pneumonia. He had two strokes at birth. He also has Mannose Binding Protein Defficiency. He is now four years old , has had 35 Pneumonias and now has a feeding tube. Our medical bills are in excess of $250,000. I have to stay home to care for him and my husband is working 4 jobs. He is a fulltime Firefighter and also a volunteer  Firefighter. He is a Paramedic for a local ambulance company and he paints houses, too. We aren't lazy people who don't want to work or try to do things on our own. We are hard working people who the government wont help because my husband makes too much money LOL!!!!! Of course we are paying medical bills with alot of that money or else the Doctors wont see our son. If there is anyone out there would be so kind as to help even a little, it would be appreciated more than anyone could ever know!!!!

Hey everyone, well so far I have recieved some help with great resources, links to some foundations that help people pay for some past due medical bills, and also was directed to a great networking/support resource for cystic fibrosis.

I just wanted to encourage you to keep trying. Whatever it is that you are going through, nothing has gone unseen by the Lord, and He will always make a way for you, even if it seems there is no way.

God bless you and I just wanted to encourage you not to give up. This world is full of caring and generous people. Money helps fix many situations I know (we need it too) but just remember that this world is temporary, and so is the situation you are in...even if it feels like it's been going on for years, and you haven't had a brake. Just keep praying and know that He is hearing your prayers. His timing it perfect, He is not slow or uncaring...and everything good in your life, truely that is good in your life, it is from the Lord. Don't forget that.

If you ever are frusterated, and just want someone to pray with you, I am here.

If you haven't checked out Nathan's web site yet, please take a minute and do that.  www.contrerashome.us Thank you very much, one of the biggest blessings you can ever do for us, if share our son's story /web site with other people....even if you can't donate personally. You never know who might see it!!God bless you
